ABOUT COLLEGE
It is indeed a great honor and a privilege bestowed on me, to present a brief report on our academic activities of our institution on this occasion.
A.R. Engineering College was established by our Honourable Chairman Mr.G.Mahadevan, in the year 2008 with an annual intake of 240. The Institution started functioning with four under graduate courses in Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Information Technology. In the year 2009-10, we started Mechanical Engineering course with an intake of 60. In the next academic year, we introduced Civil Engineering course. In 2011-12, the intake of Mechanical Engineering increased to 120. The intake of Electronics & Communication Engineering has been increased to 120 andunder graduate courses inArtificial Intelligence and Data Science Engineering was started in the year 2022 we have got an approval from AICTE, New Delhi for increasing the annual intake from 240 to 420 in the academic year 2012-13. Now, the institution is 9 years old and offers 6 under graduate courses.
INFRA STRUCTURE
The college is spread over an area of 15 acres with a total built up area of 13,389 m2 and state-of-art laboratories. Every year the library is strengthened by adding required number of books, National and International journals. We have a computerized library with 13,968 text books and reference books. The institution has subscribed to DELNET, 42 National and 42 International journals.
We have boys’ hostel in the campus with a built up area of 561.44 m2 to accommodate 100 inmates. The institution is also having a girls’ hostel to accommodate 100 inmates.
ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS

DEPARTMENT OF CIVIL ENGINEERING:
Civil Engineering is field of engineering sciences, related to Design, Construction and Maintenance of buildings, dams, bridges, tunnels, highways and other structures by the use of Physical Laws, Mathematical Equations and Theories of Mechanics. Civil Engineers utilize the available resources (expertise, materials, manpower) to complete the project in the given time span keeping in view the time, expenditure, environmental issues and physical hazards of the project.

Mrs.K.Saranya AP/CIVIL has attended Fifth International conference on veracity research in scientific computing and engineering trends (ICVRSCET-2025)
Mr.S.Vinothkumar,AP/CIVIL has attended Revit Auto Desk (Naan Mudhalvan) FDP at Anna University BIT Trichy.
DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING:
Electrical and Electronics Engineering was established in the year 2008 with the approval of AICTE, is set in an open, student friendly atmosphere. The Electrical and Electronics Engineering programme is duly approved by the AICTE and affiliated to ANNA University, Chennai. The Electrical and Electronics Engineering department strongly believes in working towards a goal which is not merely theoretical in content but practical in approach. The laboratories are highly modernized to reflect the rapidly changing trends in technology. The department has excellent infrastructure and is currently served by a team of well qualified, experienced and dedicated faculties whose specialization spans around major areas in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The faculty and students have publications in the reputed National and International Journals
STAFF DETAILS:
Mr.P.M.Kumaresan AP/EEE has attended FDP on grid and off grid solar PV design L&T Chennai.
Mr.P.M.Kumaresan AP/EEE has attended FDP on AI Machine Learning and Deep Learning by IBM at Anna University BIT Trichy.
DEPARTMENT OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING:
Mechanical Engineering recently started in the year 2009 and offer B.E Mechanical engineering .There are nine Laboratory namely CAD CAM Lab, Thermal engg lab ,Heat transfer Lab, Manufacturing Technology Lab ,Fluid Mechanics and Machinery Lab, General Workshop, Metrology and measurement Lab, Dynamics Lab, Strength of materials lab, Mechatronics lab, are well established with in short period of time.
The Department has a team of dedicated, well qualified and experienced faculty which includes three professors To provide in depth knowledge and training in the field of Mechanical engineering covering energy, thermal, design, manufacturing, industrial management, and to expose to the latest research, development and techniques so as to cater to the growing needs of the Industries and to mould the students. The department offers an under graduate program B.E.( Mechanical Engineering) . The thermal engineering program has its versatile opportunities to work in areas of thermal design, power plants, oil and gas company, HVAC, thermal management of buildings and in multidisciplinary area, thermal management of electronics, thermal engineers decides the length and breadth of electronic component sizes.
STAFF DETAILS:
Mr.S.Ramamoorthy, AP/HOD/Mech, has attended workshop on FORGE 2025 at Arunai Engineering College Thiruvannamalai.
Mr.A.Arulkumar, AP/Mech, has attended FDP on Reverse Engineering at Anna University at Tindivanam.
